1ST GRADING PROJECT-Parade of Filipino Nationalist (Entrepreneur / Politician/ Individuals)

Parade of Characters ( Entrepreneurs,Artist,Public Servant or Politicians,or anybody worthy to be called as Nationalist)

Directions: For this project, you will work individually to become the class expert on one of the Nationalist characters. You will need to read and re-read the lines relating to your character until you develop a strong knowledge of their class, property, personality, ethics, & appearance. You will also need to be able to speak intelligently and impersonate the characters for the audience to appreciate this character. We will then participate in a Parade of Characters meaning you will use this knowledge to develop a visual representation of this character to be presented to the class and during the Fiesta Intramurals.

Steps:

1. You will search for a character worthy to be called as Nationalist.Your research work must be compressed to six (6) pages only

Contents of the Character Research.

1. Definition of a Filipino Nationalist ( Identify and list the characteristics of a Filipino worthy to be called as Nationalist) - 1 page

2. Choose a Character - Search for his/her Bibliography ( Personal Background, Achievements, Famous Lines or Quotes - to be memorized ) - 3 pages ( data must come from 3 sources or references to ensure thorough selection of character)

3. Pictures of the Character ( to be impersonated) - 1 page

3. References ( list down maximum of 6-10 websites where above-mentioned data were taken)- 1 page

By the next Meeting you must bring with you the above-mentioned document (placed in a short white folder)- no documents will result to deduction of points in the project


2. Use the Character Analysis sheet provided to gather the necessary information for the assignment. Please be sure to cite your quotes correctly by indicating the line numbers in parentheses. You will need to be able to fully explain who your character is, so you will need to do some research regarding your title/profession .

3. After you have completed the Character Analysis sheet, you will construct a picture/visual representation of your character. This picture MUST display knowledge of the character’s class, Estate, personality, ethics, & appearance. You will accomplish this not only by drawing the actual character, but by including important items, detail, or symbols and by placing them in an appropriate setting, etc. Your picture must contain references to the original text to support elements of the picture. Evidence (quotes) regarding personality, property, ethics, and physical description must be present on the poster with correct citation of line numbers. See the rubric for more help with what is expected and how you will be graded.

4. Each student will impersonate their character to the class. You will need to discuss all the elements & quotes you placed on your picture as well as your interpretation of the character. (The best presentor will be included in the Fiesta-Intrams Parade of Characters)

RUBRICS FOR THE PARADE OF CHARACTERS

CRITERIA

Part I ( The Submitted Documents)total of 20 pts.

Appearance 5
The product is exceptionally attractive in terms of design, layout, and neatness.

MUGS (mechanics, usage, grammar, spelling) 5
Author makes 1 or less error in grammar or spelling that distracts the reader from the content.

Adequate Quantity of Evidence 5 pts.
All elements of the picture are accompanied by evidence (quotes) regarding class, personality, property, ethics, and physical description & correct citation of line numbers.

Part II. The Performance (30 pts.)

Relevance/ Interpretation 5
The character is sensibly chosen and it clearly & effectively includes details & symbols that reflect a deep understanding of the character.



Impersonation 15 points
An outstanding interpretation and impersonation of the character is provided.


Presentation – Speaking Skills 10
Excellent eye contact, clear voice and correct, precise pronunciation of terms.
